Our minister is Reverend D. Lynne Bandy. Rev. Bandy graduated from
the University of Toronto in 1974 and Emmanuel College in 1977 and
has been the Minister of this charge since 1990. Rev Bandy can
be reached at the Church Office.
It is assumed that for weddings that Rev. Bandy will officiate at
your wedding, but should the presence of a guest minister be desired,
arrangements can be made for him/her to assist with the service.
Rockwood United Church is located at the intersection of Highway 7 (Main St. S.) and Harris St. (Wellington Road 50) The building was erected in 1867 first as a Presbyterian church
The Sanctuary accommodates 175 people in original solid oak pews.
The interior colours are pale blue and burgundy.
Both a piano and an organ are available for use. Arrangements may
be made for use of the sound system with wireless handheld and lapel microphones
and portable CD/Tape Decks plugged into the sound system
if pre-recorded music is a desired. Please remember that all music sung
or played in the Church should be an offering in praise of God.
There are two aisles leading from a single front entrance (narthex).
Each is 36" wide and on either side of a centre set of pews.
The sanctuary and connected Day Fellowship Hall are Wheelchair
accessible, with wheelchair accessible washroom facilities. The
building and property are smoke and alcohol free.
